Ayuseva

Ayurvedic Treatments

At Ayuseva we offer traditional Ayurvedic treatments the way we have learnt and personally experienced them during our extensive studies in India. Most treatments require an initial consultation, but some can also be directly booked and enjoyed without a prior consultation.

For those seeking a replenishing retreat, we offer the possibility of staying at Ayuseva or in a local hotel and receiving a series of revitalising treatments over several consecutive days. This is a wonderful opportunity to take a break and temporarily disassociate from work, home, family or any stress and hectic-ness in one’s life. If you would like to surprise and spoil someone, Ayuseva gift vouchers for treatments are available.

Other Dhara Treatments

The same dhara technique is also used in the treatment of bladder conditions (bladder dhara), kidney disorders (kidney dhara) and lower back pain (traditionally known as kati basti). Different herbs and medicated oils are used according to the area being treated and the nature of the condition.

Pindswed Massage
This specialised massage involves the therapeutic application of heat with a bolus filled with warm herbs, which is massaged with particular strokes over the whole body or around particular joints or areas of pain. Pindswed improves circulation and loosens toxins; reduces water retention, swelling and excess fat tissue; stimulates lymphatic drainage; and relieves muscle and joint pain. The gentle penetration of warmth into the body also makes this treatment a very relaxing and soothing experience.
Full body: £45 (1½ hours)

Siddha Massage

This massage is used on any area where pain, stiffness, inflexibility or poor circulation are experienced. It is predominantly used in cases of back pain, sciatica, neck pain, frozen shoulder, knee pain, indigestion and bloating, or areas of poor sensation and numbness. The treatment involves warming the area first with pindswed boluses (see above) and then massaging in the siddha paste. This herbal paste penetrates the skin to bring immediate, symptomatic relief, which is long-lasting when repeated on a regular basis. Local application: £25 (30 minutes)

Abhyanga and Steam

This full body massage with warm herb-infused oils both invigorates and rejuvenates the body and helps restore balance by stimulating vital energy points (marma points). The subsequent steam facilitates the deep penetration of oil into the skin and the removal of doshas and toxins. Full body: £45 (1½ hours)

Nasya with Face Massage

This treatment involves a face massage and gentle steam followed by the administration of medicated oil into the nasal tract. Nasya helps in the treatment of sinus congestion, common cold, headaches, allergies and ailments of the head and neck region. It cleanses and rejuvenates the sense organs and improves memory and concentration. £25 (45 minutes)
